What are student legal services?

Student legal services are support programs offered by many colleges and universities to assist students with a variety of legal issues. These services can include legal advice, representation, and educational resources on matters such as landlord-tenant disputes, contracts, minor criminal charges, and more. The goal is to help students understand their legal rights and responsibilities, often at little to no cost. Availability and scope of services may vary by institution, so it's important to check with your school's student legal office for specific offerings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a student legal assistant, and why are they important?

These skills ensure that legal tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, supporting attorneys and contributing to successful case outcomes.

Depending on the organization, you may also help with document review, preparing discovery materials, or supporting attorneys with administrative tasks.
