Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
The Section for Health Equity at NYU Langone's Department of Population Health is looking for a Bilingual Community Health Intern for the Harvest Share program. Harvest Share is a community-centered, equity driven program that aims to improve diet and social/built environments for English, Chinese-, Spanish-, and Bangla-speaking communities in Brooklyn through culturally-appropriate food access, nutrition education, and experiential learning. This exciting new initiative involves integration within a multidisciplinary team of partners in community-based research, community service, nutrition, and public health across multiple partnering institutions.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Community engagement - Provide logistical support for in-person activities.
    2. Translation support - Assist with translation of community-facing materials.
    3. Nutrition education sheets - Conduct necessary research to create culturally adapted nutrition information sheets.
    4. Recruitment and outreach - Work with community partners to outreach and recruit for research studies.
    5. Quantitative research and evaluation - Support data collection, entry, cleaning, and analysis as necessary.
    6. Qualitative research and evaluation - Conduct key informant interviews, assist with translations/transcription, and participate in analysis as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program.
2. Fluency (ability to read, write, and speak) in Spanish.
3. Background and/or coursework in community health or related coursework/experiences.
4. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
5. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
6. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook.
7. Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
