About the Role:

The Human Resources Intern will play a vital role in supporting the HR department by assisting with various administrative and operational tasks that contribute to the overall employee experience and organizational effectiveness. This position offers a comprehensive introduction to HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The intern will collaborate closely with HR professionals to help streamline processes and ensure accurate record-keeping. Through hands-on experience, the intern will gain valuable insights into HR best practices and contribute to projects that enhance workplace culture and employee engagement. Ultimately, this role aims to develop foundational HR skills while supporting the department’s goal of fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and facilitating introductions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and support internal communications to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct research on HR policies and best practices to assist in the development and implementation of departmental initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic familiarity with HR information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and employees.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer 20+ hours per week, year-round. Scheduling is flexible based on the student’s class schedule and availability. Typical business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Common intern schedules may include full-day blocks such as Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday, or half-day schedules throughout the week.
