ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision, the Student Assistant B is responsible for assisting various tasks including the oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the dining services operation such as inventory, customer service, food preparation, and food safety and sanitation procedures.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • Typical duties may include, general office, tutoring, wash dishes, wait tables, cashier, custodial, ground work, and stocking.
  • Provide a good balance of technical and people skills with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Prepare documents/materials as necessary.
  • Possess the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, handle confidential materials appropriately, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Must be able to communicate regularly with direct supervisor all work status updates as well as task completions.
  • Assist with schedules and assigns daily work assignments to a team and oversees the completion of tasks.
  • Assist with training and guides staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc.
  • Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
  • Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, etc.
  • Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations.
  • Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers' needs.
  • Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels.
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 or more months of job-related experience; previous food service experience required.
  • Must have food safety certification.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Satisfactory completion of training program(s) and ability to show competencies.
