Job description

OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a high school, technical school or community college Drafting and Design student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 in our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters.
Merrick's Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they're learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company.
The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Merrick Intern Program will provide an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of mechanical equipment design. The intern will be exposed to a variety of mechanical design items potentially including detailed machine design, 3D modeling in CREO and creation of drawings in CREO. Typical equipment includes containment systems (gloveboxes, hot cells, cleanrooms), material handling equipment, small scale process piping & equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be currently enrolled in a high school CAD program; or pursuing an Associate Degree or Technical College Certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
  • Ability to collaborate with other disciplines, work independently, and problem solve.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with solid modeling software like CREO, SolidWorks, Revit, CADworx or other 3D modeling packages.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, CATIA, and/or Windchill.
  • Local candidates preferred.
