Position Summary:
The Colorado Rapids Soccer Club is looking for a creative and motivated Graphic Design Intern to assist in developing visual content for both digital and print platforms. This internship offers students and recent graduates valuable hands-on experience designing materials that support the business operations of a Major League Soccer team, as well as its MLS NEXT Pro and Academy teams. Interns will collaborate daily with the Graphic Design team and work under the guidance of the Senior Graphic Designer

Examples of work performed:
  • Create and design print and digital materials collaborating with marketing, social media, sponsorship, ticket sales, community and other departments within the Colorado Rapids organization in a timley and effective manner.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing assets on ‘Slate’.
  • Assist with creating content for Rapids 2 and Rapids Academy.
  • Produce materials that maintain brand consistency, represent campaign ethos and follow creative guidelines, while being inventive and artistically interesting.
  • Work with the brand department to maintain consistent club look and feel.
  • Receive feedback from the Creative Team and possess creative problem-solving skills for visual design and proficiency in typography.
  • Occasionally assisting in match day design operations such as updating templates on or leading up to gameday.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions amp; Physical Demands:

Qualifications:
  • Must provide a portfolio of self-created graphic design work.
  • Currently working towards or recently graduated with a BS/BA degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • High School or GED.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc).
  • Basic knowledge of layout (typography, balance, scale, etc).

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism
  • Willingness to Learn and Collaborate
  • Knowledge of MLS, the sport of soccer, professional sports marketing/social media landscape
  • Knowledge in, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

Compensation:
  • Base hourly range $19.29 per hour
  • 29 hours max per week
