Job Summary:

The STEM Pathway Student Associate serves as a professional representative of the Community College of Denver's STEM Pathway by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support at the STEM Welcome Desk in the Science Building. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and student-centered environment by assisting students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors while supporting the day-to-day operations of the STEM Pathway.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner.
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, respond to general inquiries, and provide accurate information or referrals.
Perform general clerical and administrative tasks, including filing, copying, data entry, and document preparation.
Review course syllabi for accuracy and completeness using established guidelines.
Assist STEM faculty and staff with departmental projects and special assignments.
Maintain an organized Welcome Desk and help ensure office, classroom, and laboratory spaces remain clean, orderly, and presentable.
Monitor and restock office, classroom, and laboratory supplies as needed.
Support daily office operations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned in support of STEM Pathway operations.

Competencies/KSAs:

Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. Demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn new software and processes. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality (FERPA), exercise sound judgment, and contribute to a welcoming, organized, and student-centered office environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Registered for a minimum of 6 credits of course work in an financial aid approved pathway.
Have a Work Study Award within your Financial Aid package.
Be willing and flexible to learning new things.
Be punctual and responsible.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered for in-person courses on the Auraria Campus, preferably in STEM, or Health Sciences.
Have superb written and verbal communication skills.
Have excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Have a friendly and outgoing demeanor.
Be a critical thinker and proactive problem-solver.
