ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Currently searching for Part-Time Student Assistants to work in NSF CISE MSI DP project "Multimodal User-centric Mobility Scooter Safety Assessment System", Computer Science Department, College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. Tingting Chen, Principal Investigator.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

The student assistants will assist the research in the Mobility Scooter Project at Cal Poly Pomona. Specifically, the assistants will assist in AI application systems for safety assessment of mobility scooter users, performing data collection, processing, analysis, and documentation tasks.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year university undergraduate program enrollment.
  • Computer Science or related major.

PREFERRED:

Master's degree or graduate school enrollment in Computer Science, or related area. Must possess excellent communication, self-starter, and leadership skills and have the ability work in a team setting and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff.

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
