Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary depending on operational needs, including campus breaks or closures. (e.g. Spring Break, Summer Session, Winter Session, Commencement Week)

Job Summary

Summary:

Provide financial assistance to the Parking & Transportation Budget Analyst.  The student employees will receive on-the-job training for their role as Budget Student Assistant.

Under general supervision, you will help with the following duties:

  • Help monitor and reconcile financial data.
  • Help maintain historical records and compute trends when requested.
  • Assist with general office duties; copy, file, and use a calculator.

Job Duties:

Daily Duties

  • Help with reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies
  • Assist with entering financial transactions into internal databases
  • Help maintain digital and physical financial records

Reconcile Financial Data

  • On a monthly basis, help with entering revenue and expense data from the financial reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including in inclement weather.

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to apply numerical reasoning and quantitative skills
  • Ability to work with large data sets

Background Check

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
