Student Research Assistant, Saturday STEM
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in designing and implementing curriculums
  • Research and develop lesson plans when needed
  • Assesses student learning Analyzes assessment results and provides feedback and support to enhance student learning
  • Assists and participates in the organizing, planning and implementation of all educational and enrichment activities of the program that will influence students learning outcomes
  • Supervise and participate activities, promoting the program's objective of an effective teaching/learning environment for STEM students
  • Perform duties as instructional assistant in the classroom
  • Serve as mentoras/tutoras to SSTEM participants
  • Research background materials for lessons
  • Provide accountability and assessment reports
  • Attend professional development opportunities, staff and workshop meetings
  • Perform office duties Participate in all ongoing improvements in teaching strategies, technology, application methods, and enrichment events promoting students awareness, enthusiasm, and academic success in STEM
  • Assist director and administrative assistant as needed
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Education Enrolled as an undergraduate student at Alcorn State University with a GPA of 2.8 or higher

Must be able to work on Saturday mornings
Knowledge of STEM disciplines
Knowledge of instructional methods, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
