Summary of Position
This position works under close supervision to provide a variety of clerical procedures related to library public service areas to include the main circulation desk, the learning commons area and the Multimedia Lab control desk.
Education and Experience
High school graduate or GED required.
Current student enrollment at CTC is required
Knowledge Skills and Ability
  • Proficient in current technologies in particular Microsoft Office suite, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform simple software/hardware maintenance on computers and on printers.
  • Ability to learn library automated systems.
  • Awareness of the library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and the Academic Databases.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and with all levels of employee
Essential Functions
  • Perform a variety of clerical procedures related to library public service routines, to include circulation, multimedia lab and learning commons.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for all public service areas of the library.
  • Ability to do minor troubleshooting on computers and printers, performing simple software/hardware maintenance.
  • Deliver materials to/pick up materials from other offices on campus.
  • Participate in inventory and other special projects as approved by the Dean of Library Services
