Aide - General
Qualifications
The aide must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with
children, faculty and the general public in a diplomatic, friendly and efficient manner.
He/she must also meet:
Federal /AideParaprofessional Qualification (must meet one):
60 or more college credit hours
Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
Completion of an approved 20-hour training program and submission of a high school transcript (or equivalent)
AND
Missouri Substitute Certificate Requirement:
Current Missouri substitute certificate
OR
Clear plan to obtain one during onboarding

The aide will be supervised by the building principal.
Duties
1. Has an in-depth understanding of instructional methods and techniques of classroom
control.
2. Works in a professional manner.
3. Takes initiative in each task.
4. Solves routine problems independently.
5. Accepts direction from supervisors.
6. Demonstrates appropriate preparation for the job.
7. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of subject or grade level.
8. Assists in the organization of the educational environment to promote learning.
9. Assists in the management of student learning.
10. Attends school within the guidelines established.
11. Appropriately supervise students before, during, and after the school day as needed.
12. Performs any other duties assigned by the supervising teacher or principal.
