Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field and three or more years of experience managing student activities in higher education.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience

Job Duties
1. Supervises staff and organizational advisors to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Provide annual office goals and objectives consistent with College strategic goals and meeting the needs of the student population.
2. Coordinate all student events, workshops and legislatively mandated programming (i.e. Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Constitution Day) activities to ensure data driven student needs are met and partnerships are developed with the Student Resources, Enrollment Management, instructional divisions and other departments that support student success and completion.
3. Develop and implement student engagement opportunities annually for the student body. Coordinate the process to administrate student activities fees. Responsible for student activities including weekly events, legislatively mandated programming, multicultural events, clubs, organizations, and the coordination of the Student Government Association.
4. Provide oversight and evaluate for the gym facilities, club sports and recreational sports events. Manage the budget for all recreational sport events and the gym facility. Hire and schedule staffing for these areas and provide on-site supervision for the gym facility and events like Sports Day (Fall and Spring) and Beach Day (Spring).
5. Design and delivery leadership training and co-curricular opportunities for student leaders and the student body.
6. Manage budgets, expense and revenue reports; data collection for office activities, analysis and program revision when indicated.
7. Serves on college wide committees representing student services and the needs of the student population on campus, at COM sites and within the COM service area.
8. Responsible for designing training curriculum, recruiting and supporting Student Club Advisors.
9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: walking or standing for extended periods of time.
Medium Work: Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
Travel required.
Ability to work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
