Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Product Quote Specialist to manage product quoting processes for software and hardware solutions and provide responsive support throughout the quote-to-award process. This role works across Field Applications, Engineering, Business Development, Production, and Product teams to gather requirements, ensure quote accuracy, answer customer questions, and help keep opportunities moving.
Prior technical experience is not required for this position. However, technical curiosity, familiarity with software and hardware products, and the ability to develop product knowledge are strongly preferred. The successful candidate will build deeper product knowledge through training and hands-on experience while escalating complex technical questions when appropriate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong customer service, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving with an interest in growing into a more technically capable quoting and pre-sales support role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage accurate quotes for software, hardware, and integrated system solutions, including custom configurations.
  • Collaborate with Field Applications, Engineering, Business Development, Production, and Product teams to gather necessary information, resolve information gaps, and ensure quote accuracy.
  • Engage directly with customers to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, respond to inquiries, and accelerate the quoting process.
  • Provide clear product information and, as product knowledge develops, knowledgeable guidance on product capabilities, compatibility, and typical deployment options.
  • Ensure quotes align with product standards, pricing strategy, and margin objectives.
  • Own post-quote follow-up activities, track active quotes, and identify opportunities at risk of stalling to maintain momentum and improve award probability.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Managers, and the Field Team to address customer objections or information gaps.
  • Manage internal tools such as JIRA and Zendesk to support customer service, internal communication flow, clean data, and opportunity visibility.
  • Improve quoting workflows, templates, and internal knowledge resources.
  • Prepare regular reports on quoting activities and customer support metrics for management review.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong customer service attitude and problem-solving capability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or any related field.
  • Experience in quoting, sales support, customer support, or a similar role in a technology-driven industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn product offerings, quoting processes, and internal tools through structured training and hands-on experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The following are helpful, but candidates are not expected to bring all of them on day one:
  • Exposure to customer technical requirements or product configuration discussions.
  • Familiarity with, or interest in learning, how software and hardware products are configured and used.
  • Comfort communicating with customers about products and partnering with technical teams to resolve questions.
  • Exposure to software or hardware system architectures, mission use cases, product compatibility, or deployment configurations.
  • Experience with customer follow-up, sales support, or helping opportunities progress from quote to award.
  • Interest in structured product training and building working knowledge of product updates, pricing changes, and configuration options.
  • Desire to grow technical confidence and independence over time.
