Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Data Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and servicing low-voltage cabling and related systems. The ideal candidate should have experience working with structured cabling, network infrastructure, and jobsite installation practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, pull, route, and secure low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable
  • Terminate data jacks, patch panels, and network equipment
  • Test and troubleshoot cable runs and connectivity issues
  • Label cabling and maintain organized wiring systems
  • Assist with installation of network devices, cameras, access control, Wi-Fi, and communication systems
  • Read and follow blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment on job sites
  • Work with team leads, foremen, and project managers to complete projects on time

Requirements:

  • Experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, or data installations preferred
  • Knowledge of cable routing, termination, and testing
  • Familiarity with network closets, racks, patch panels, and cable management
  • Ability to use hand tools, ladders, and basic testing equipment
  • Ability to work in commercial, industrial, or construction environments
  • Reliable transportation and good attendance
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as needed
