Installation Technician (Commercial & Residential)Join the Team at Audio Video Excellence (AVX)

What You'll Do

As an Installation Technician, you'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of a wide variety of residential and commercial low-voltage systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Install audio, video, home theater, and commercial AV systems
  • Pull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, speaker wire, coax, etc.)
  • Install and mount televisions, projection systems, screens, speakers, cameras, racks, wall plates, and other AV equipment
  • Configure and troubleshoot audio, video, networking, and control systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation
  • Perform system testing to ensure all equipment operates properly before project completion
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Provide exceptional customer service while representing AVX professionally
  • Accurately document completed work and communicate project updates with supervisors and project managers
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices
What We're Looking For

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of experience installing residential and/or commercial audio/video or low-voltage systems
  • Experience terminating and testing structured cabling
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic audio, video, networking, and control system issues
  • Experience with major AV manufacturers and control platforms is a plus (Control4, Crestron, Savant, Sonos, Lutron, Cisco Meraki, etc.)
  • InfoComm CTS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong computer and mobile device proficiency
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, and construction environments
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform physical work throughout the day
  • Ability to work efficiently while meeting project deadlines
