Manage IT projects to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions for Structuredโ€™s clients.

Structured Communication Systems is a leading information technology consultancy and systems integrator. We are experts at architecting and implementing secure and reliable solutions for delivering business applications, ensuring business continuity, enhancing data center performance and efficiency, enabling mobile workers, securing information assets and providing information security and governance.

Structured Communication Systems, Inc is seeking a Technical Project Manager (Level I) located in Chicago, Illinois to join our team.

As part of our team, youโ€™ll be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing information technology (IT) projects within an agreed scope, while also acting as the primary point of contact between internal teams and the technical aspects of the assigned projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired level of quality.

Compensation: $70,000.00 โ€“ $100,000.00 (annually)

  • Plans, establishes, and manages information technology (IT) projects within an agreed scope.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and acts as the liaison between internal teams, customers, and the technical aspects of assigned projects.
  • Defines priorities, documents the project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed project plan, scheduling timeline, and budget for all assigned projects.
  • Ensures the smooth and timely completion of projects by collaborating and coordinating with internal engineering resources to identify potential risks or unforeseen delays and dependencies, develops response plans, and realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Actively participates in creating design alternatives that meet the unique requirements of each customer.
  • Ensures that the project meets quality standards and complies with the policies and regulations set by the customer.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends to prepare project status reports as needed.
  • Works with a diverse group of technical staff with varying degrees of technical ability.
  • Assists with contract negotiations with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
  • Presents and/or facilitates project status meetings and communicates project status to key project stakeholders.
  • Responsible for following the current policies and procedures for tracking activities in our CRM tool, Salesforce.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Promotes and maintains a high standard of customer service at all times.
  • Ability to maintain and continually develop accurate product and application knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Must be well-organized in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and deadline driven environment.
  • Strong organization and time management capabilities and an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage challenging demands from internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including communicating, fostering, and maintaining relationships with internal teams, customers, prospective customers, and vendors.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

Bachelorโ€™s degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in engineering, project management, or a related field, or 3 โ€“ 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT Project Management.

  • Strong knowledge of Project Management Methodology and best practices as defined by PMI is required.
  • Achievement of either a CAPM or PMP certification from PMI is preferred.

General Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio and Project software and experience using CRM platforms.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reports. Ability to correspond, effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees, management, vendors and customers.
