Job description

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Division Manager to lead and grow our structural engineering practice in South Florida. This individual will play a key leadership role in managing client relationships, overseeing technical project delivery, mentoring staff, and expanding the division's presence across the region.

The ideal candidate will bring strong structural engineering expertise, established knowledge of the South Florida market, and the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of building design, renovation, inspection, and assessment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow the structural engineering practice throughout South Florida.
  • Manage client relationships, project teams, and internal staff.
  • Perform and oversee structural design, renovation, inspection, and assessment projects for a variety of applications, including new construction, design-build, renovations, adaptive reuse, and existing building evaluations.
  • Lead structural design and analysis for building systems across commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and industrial markets.
  • Design and analyze low-rise and mid-rise building structures using materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel.
  • Oversee the preparation of structural calculations, drawings, technical reports, and project documentation.
  • Develop and review finite element models for the analysis of complex structural systems.
  • Conduct and oversee field-related assignments, including site investigations, threshold inspections, condition assessments, site visits, and related reporting.
  • Work directly with clients to maintain strong relationships, support existing accounts, and identify opportunities for continued growth.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to the expansion of the firm's structural engineering services.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of professional structural engineering experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in Florida.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working within the South Florida market.
  • Experience managing structural engineering projects, clients, and technical staff.
  • Existing client relationships or base-business accounts are a plus.
  • Proficiency with engineering, CADD, and BIM tools, including required experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience designing and analyzing a variety of structural systems and complex building projects.
  • Experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with structural inspections, assessments, and renovation-related projects.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
