Summary/Objective:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Tekla Detailer to join our team and play a key role in producing high-quality structural steel fabrication drawings. Working under senior detailers, this position requires a strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and fabricators.
Essential Functions:
  • Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for assigned projects using Tekla Structures
  • Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent
  • Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, material take-offs, generate BOMs/NC files, follow company drawing standards and QA checklists
  • Coordinate with senior detailers, engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards
  • Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
  • Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures
  • Strong knowledge of AISC, or relevant industry standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Experience with clash detection and coordination
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
  • Experience working with fabrication shops or on-site construction teams
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and integration

Work Environment:
  • Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
  • Position may require visits to construction site
  • Flexible work arrangements (if applicable)

Physical Demands:
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machine
