Position Summary

The Structural Heart Coordinator is a licensed professional who will work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. The Structural Heart Coordinator provides point-of-service care for Cardiac Cath Lab and Structural Heart customers and guests, manages incoming calls, schedules, and attends meetings, and supports the needs of leadership. The Structural Heart Coordinator supports the Structural Heart Coordinator -Lead through facilitation and coordinating all services/systems required for an organized multidisciplinary team approach to the evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of the patient needing structural heart procedures, including TAVR, Watchman, Mitra Clip and other upcoming new procedures. This is a specialized RN role requiring knowledge of general cardiology as well as valvular disease, surgical, and nonsurgical approach to treatment. Knowledge of pre and post-care of TAVR and interventional valve procedures. This position provides patient care in accordance with the standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Health. This position is responsible for supporting data collection functions and operations in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Structural Heart Program. These data collections are to include the TVT, STS, and pertinent or determined registries. This position will create, manage schedules, retrieve data, and submit reports for organizational use according to submission timeline. They have working knowledge & utilization of Cardiac software programs and can retrieve data. They maintain month-end data processes to ensure integrity of Cardiac reports and statistics. The nurse creates, updates, and maintains quality indicator dashboards for use in the Cath Lab and Structural Heart Program, to enhance decision-making and troubleshooting processes.

Education / Training / Experience

Minimum: Software program experience (i.e. all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, etc.)

Desired: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, Nursing, or healthcare administration. Medical Terminology. Two years of cardiology or telemetry or ICU experience. Clinical experience in percutaneous valve procedure patients.

Licenses / Certifications

Minimum: Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing. Current BLS recognition. ACLS within six (6) months of hire.

Desired: ACLS recognition. Cardiac Nursing Certification.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Demonstrates evidence of strong skills in confidentiality, integrity, creativity, and initiative. Demonstrates ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and families and handles confidential/sensitive situations and information during crisis. Must be self-motivated, flexible, detail oriented, and work with mutli-disciplinary teams. Must be skilled in the collection and analysis of data, assessment of data integrity, and evaluation of data for statistical significance. Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment. Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Must have a thorough knowledge of hospital quality management operations. Must possess ability to analyze complex information systems and process descriptions and to exercise judgment in defining system problems and solutions to correct the problems. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential for working in a complex, fast-paced working environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously.
