Pelican Energy is a full service consulting engineering company providing consulting and design services for the energy sector. We are accepting applications for a lead civil engineer interested in primarily structural design and being part of design teams leading the development of classic oil and gas infrastructure and the exciting new areas of carbon capture and sequestration infrastructure.

POSITION SUMMARY

Capable of independently leading the civil/structural design of industrial type facilities and coordinating with project managers and lead electrical and mechanical engineers to execute preliminary and detail design project efforts. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Develop project design basis document.
  • Coordinate technical design activities and deliverables.
  • Maintain / communicate overall project design criteria with staff.
  • Establish and maintain project deliverables.
  • Manage completion of assigned action items.
  • Assure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Communicate project priorities, concerns to Project Manager and other discipline leads.
  • Develop drawing packages.
  • Produce project reports.
  • Responsible for assisting in checking of all project deliverables.
  • Interface with clients.
  • Work toward developing greater inter-discipline technical knowledge.
  • Be capable of sharing engineering knowledge and software skills with team members as department grows.
  • Assist, maintain and continuously improve company CS Engineering standards.

Computer Skills: AutoCAD, NAVISworks, RISA Floor, RISA 3D, RISA Foundations, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu

Certifications & Licenses: Professional Engineer License - Required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering Skills:

  • Competency in the design and detailing of steel and concrete structures including pipe racks, pipe supports, pump foundations, vessel foundation and similar industrial type structures.
  • Design shallow and deep foundations.
  • Offshore design experience. 
  • Working knowledge of ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
  • (Preferred) Site development and drainage design experience.
