Job Summary
As a Structural Analysis Engineer at BPMI, you will perform routine technical functions to execute the BPMI mission in areas including, but not limited to performing a wide range of engineering tasks related to the analysis, design, and evaluation of structural components and systems, ensuring compliance with NR program and safety standards. This role involves utilizing engineering tools and methods to assess structural integrity and generate technical reports. The Structural Analysis Engineer works closely with various teams to integrate engineering solutions into broader program goals, while providing technical support for field operations. Additionally, the engineer will assist in the development of project plans and documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and performance targets, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and technologies.
Essential Duties:
  • Perform delegated engineering responsibilities, supporting a variety of fleet, field, technology, analysis, manufacturing, facilities, and operations activities.
  • Execute design, application, analysis, and testing tasks for components, equipment, materials, and systems in the assigned area of focus, while adhering to established standards and guidelines.
  • Draft project plans to organize and accomplish the assigned work, ensuring alignment with the project's goals and timelines.
  • Support other engineers by performing analyses, preparing reports, and assisting in the preparation of technical specifications, design reviews, and documentation.
  • Compile engineering data and assist in the development of technical manuals, reports, and procedures in accordance with NR program quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the accuracy of designs, monitor performance, and facilitate technical discussions, providing support in reviews, quality surveillance, and project documentation.
  • Perform analytical evaluations of structural systems using existing models and tools, preparing results for internal reviews and stakeholder communication.
  • Update technical documentation and participate in the review of designs and other project-related materials to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in design, development, execution, and evaluation of engineering research and design projects.
  • Prepare letters to the Government providing technical information, recommending approval of technical actions, or obtaining approval of funding.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering, or related technical degree, from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight (8) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
  • Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for recent college graduates.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and other commonly used business applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - including effective technical writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with strong attention to detail and deadlines. Committed to maintaining high standards of quality.
