Job Description
This position works closely with the Architectural, Piping Design, Mechanical, Process and Electrical groups to design foundations, structures and pipe racks required to support process equipment, piping, instrumentation and power cable trays, and electrical equipment. Additional work will include design of platforms, walkways, and elevated structures, buildings, and foundations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop designs using reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and light gauge steel.
  • Support work delivered from multiple office locations.
  • Direct project workflow of engineers, designers and drafters to ensure project completion.
  • Interact and collaborate with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and work with Discipline Manager and Project Manager to develop contingency plans.
  • Participate in services during construction, including field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.

Job Requirements
  • BSCE or equivalent degree from an accredited university. Master's degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required
  • Structural Engineer (SE) designation based on passing the NCEES 16-hour Structural exam strongly desired
  • Experience delivering projects utilizing AutoCAD and Revit and coordinating an integrated design using coordination tools such as NavisWorks
  • Thorough understanding of applicable design codes and regulations
    • Working knowledge of national codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, OSHA and ASTM
  • Proficiency using RISA, STAAD.Pro, RAM Structural Systems, RAM Elements
  • Demonstrated experience working in the architectural/engineering (A/E) industry supporting projects in the specialty chemicals, heavy industrial, and manufacturing industries.
  • Ability to support work for/in multiple other offices
  • Ability to travel as this position may require individuals to spend time onsite with customers
  • Ability/willingness to climb elevated platforms via plant stairs and ladders at client sites
  • Good communicator and team player
