Job description

The Quality Inspector has duties and responsibilities related to xCelle Americas Quality Control functions and reports to xCelle Americas Quality Manager.

Quality Inspectors perform inspections and tests of civil aviation components, parts and articles using precision tools and equipment and are responsible for ensuring all airworthiness requirements are met and documented in accordance with all applicable regulations regarding maintenance, preventative maintenance in the repair of aircraft components/parts for which the xCelle Americas is rated.

***The Quality Inspector is a Safety Sensitive Position***

  • Follow xCelle Americas company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor(s) to support production schedule.
  • Complete maintenance records by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with xCelle Americas Quality Management System.
  • Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
  • Perform receiving inspection of parts and materials used by xCelle Americas, as necessary.
  • Perform In-Process inspections of maintenance to ensure all maintenance and corrective actions are performed and documented accurately.
  • Perform Final and Return to Service Inspections after completion of maintenance, ensuring that all repairs are accomplished according to applicable data that is acceptable to the FAA (e.g. component maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, structural repair manuals, customer specifications, drawings, diagrams, etc.).
  • Train, coach and mentor technicians and other inspectors in the performance of their duties, as necessary.

    Other duties as needed or as assigned.

  • Thoroughly familiar with applicable FAA and EASA regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of the various inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools appropriate for the work being performed and approved for return to service
  • Ability to read and interpret component maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, structural repair manuals engineering and other technical documents.
  • Ability to calculate tolerances using specialty / calibrated measuring devices.

     Excellent written and oral communication skills.

     Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

     Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Hold a 14 CFR 65 Mechanic Certificate or meet requirements to obtain 14 CFR 65 Repairman certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years performing inspections and tests of civil aviation components (preferred) or 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, preferably in a 14 CFR 145 Repair Station.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English fluently.
