Job description

Associate II, Welder Overview:
  • Weld and assemble different pieces by using hand held welding equipment such as hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures; utilize different materials (plate steel, sheet steel, structural steel, and tubing)
  • Prepare and complete work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal
  • Test and inspect welded components to ensure they meet set specifications before moving to the next department
  • Work from different specifications and shop orders
  • Utilize ruler, square, templates, and gauges to take and read measurements
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and lift tables
  • Report damages on machines and equipment; maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Report all unsafe conditions to management
  • Monitor/control the robotic welding process
  • Operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding tasks
  • Perform visual inspection of weld quality
  • Program robotic welding systems
  • Provide work reports/feedback to supervisors or engineering teams
  • Set up/prepare robotic welding equipment for operation
  • Troubleshoot/resolve and recover from potential technical issues that may arise
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group's and Systems' reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Associate II, Welder Qualifications
  • No minimum education required
  • 1+ year of robotic welding experience required
  • Basic knowledge of MIG welding, handheld plasma machines and cutting torches using cutting steel, acetylene and other cutting methods
  • Basic knowledge of welding techniques, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit up
  • Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to talk or hear
The pay rate for this position is $21.50/hr. Base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
