Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce 2Dand 3D designs based on Estimator and Customer concepts and budget.
  • Collaborate with Estimator and Customer for project design.
  • Perform site visits to ensure design criteria and restraints are reflected in design.
  • Understand and interpret machine drawings and structural drawings to design the necessary structures.
  • Ability to design connections per AISC for submittals to engineer.
  • Create fully detailed structural drawings for Engineer approval and/or construction.
  • Knowledge of OSHA building guidelines for Stairs, Handrail, ladders etc.
  • Work alongside field installers and shop fabricators to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Draw basic programs for Burn Table/Plasma Table/Water jet/beam processor fabrication tasks.
  • Perform job take-offs to order materials in advance of fabrication.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with structural design or detailing with emphasis on connection design. Experience in a AISC certified fabrication shop preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • General understanding of industrial construction design techniques and concepts and how they impact function and cost.
  • Experience of collaborating with cross functions teams both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling programs; SDS2 and SolidWorks preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new software, technology, and equipment.
  • Strong math and creative critical thinking skills as well as an understanding of geometry.
  • Ability to maintain work efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work 50 hours per week.
  • Trades experience in industrial construction preferred
