Job description

Project Manager โ€“ Commercial Construction

Chicago, IL

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on, project-based position working closely with field leadership and self-perform crews to manage schedule, cost, quality, safety, and overall project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from preconstruction/startup through final closeout
  • Own project budgets, cost forecasting, productivity tracking, and financial performance
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including manpower, materials, equipment, and deliveries
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents and self-perform field crews
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and material requirements
  • Lead communication with general contractors, owners, architects, and engineers
  • Manage progress meetings, billings, pay applications, and project closeout
  • Maintain strong jobsite safety and quality standards
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of construction Project Management experience required; 5+ years preferred
  • Commercial construction experience required
  • Concrete, self-perform, high-rise, parking structure, or structural construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and field coordination
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and project documentation
  • Experience with Procore and Excel; Tekla and Bluebeam experience is a plus
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
  • Must be comfortable working primarily onsite from the project location
