Job description

Job Description
The position involves joining a team that develops and refines interface designs and requirements for systems, subsystems, and components of the MK 41 Vertical Launching System onboard various US Navy and foreign naval ship platforms. The focus of the team is to develop new and update existing maritime, launcher, missile, weapons, weapons control, and weapons testing effectiveness systems.
The individual shall be a self-starter who can work independently, as well as in a team environment. This position requires frequent collaboration with the stakeholders of the launcher interface community.
The candidate will support the generation and review of design models, drawings, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), specifications, interface documents, and the appropriate technical and integration data, analyses, and documentation to support engineering decisions. The individual will review, prepare, and update Computer-Aided Design (CAD) system electronic or mechanical drawings and ensure drawings are clear and technically accurate based upon design specification.
The individual will perform and document computer solid layout modeling, static and dynamic structural modeling, and thermal modeling as needed.
This individual will perform Quality Assurance assessments on a variety of documentation and will provide error identification and product improvement plans based on these assessments.
Required Skills and Education
• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• 2 years of engineering experience
• Experience in technical documentation reviews
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills and Education
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience
• Experience with U.S. Navy Missile or Launcher Systems.
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Good Documentation practices
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience in Microsoft Visio.
• Knowledge of Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing to the ASME Y14.5 standard.
• Current active Secret clearance.
