Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designated as an Engineer Intern (EI), with interest in obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for the Project Manager position.
PE license is strongly preferred for the Project Engineer position.
Structural Engineer (SE) license is highly desirable for both Project Engineer and Project Manager positions.
Candidates capable of obtaining professional licensure within one year of hire will also be considered for the Project Engineer role.
Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design principles, and engineering software used to prepare technical plans, reports, drawings, and models.
3-8 years of structural engineering experience preferred for Project Engineers.
10+ years of structural engineering experience with proven project and client management experience required for the Project Manager role.
Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, client relationships, and business development is required for the Project Manager position.
Design structural solutions for industrial, commercial, institutional, residential, and historical retrofit projects, with a primary focus on industrial facilities.
Design structures primarily constructed of structural steel, with experience in wood, masonry, and concrete structures considered a strong advantage.
Calculate structural loads and select structural members based on design forces and service requirements.
Design shallow and deep foundations, underground concrete vaults, tunnels, slab reinforcement, structural connections, and detailing.
Prepare structural calculations, reports, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design requirements.
Provide redline comments and technical direction to Revit Designers.
Verify field conditions, assess constructability, travel to project sites throughout the Upper Midwest, and assist in resolving field issues.
Interpret and apply domestic and international structural building codes.
Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements.
Interact directly with clients while providing excellent customer service and professional representation of the company.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, subconsultants, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity while maintaining schedules, budgets, and resource planning (Project Manager role).
Prepare project proposals, develop scopes of work, estimate fees, and coordinate subconsultant scopes (Project Manager role).
Develop and maintain client relationships, support business development initiatives, and generate repeat business (Project Manager role).
Receive mentorship from senior engineers while progressively taking on design leadership, project management responsibilities, and mentoring junior engineers and designers.
