LC State invites applications for the position of Landscape Technician (2 openings).Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $16.83 - $18.26 per hourRequired Qualifications:At least six months or one season performing related work (Home yard work is not qualifying experience unless it is for a very large and detailed landscape/grounds)Grounds equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently, coordinate and facilitate solutions, and analyze and resolve landscape issues.A valid driver's license is required.Preferred Qualifications:Associate's degreeKnowledge of plants and soil types.Horticulture and professional landscaping practices.Knowledge of spraying of pesticides and herbicides.Basic pruning & irrigation knowledge.Responsibilities:General grounds maintenance.Grounds equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.Operate equipment: snow blowers, lawn mowers, string trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, forklifts, aerial lifts, tractors, dollies, carts, hand tools, and other mechanized equipment.Set up bleachers, portable stages and flooring, and tables and chairs for special events.Respond to emerging conditions on campus, assist with leaf and snow removal, and flood water cleanup.Assist other Physical Plant crews as needed.Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.Application Procedure: Please upload all of the following documents or your application may not be considered for review.Cover Letter/Letter of InterestResume/Curriculum VitaeContact Information or Letters for three (3) Professional ReferencesThis position is open until filled.
