Description:
MTSI is seeking an experienced Principal Acquisition Program Manager to provide programmatic support for multiple ongoing and new B-52 avionics and communications/navigation acquisition and modernization programs. The candidate will work directly with branch leadership and program managers, engineers, and logisticians executing Air Force Global Strike Command programs to field new, war-winning capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily, direct programmatic guidance and recommendations to avionics/communications program managers in support of multiple ongoing and new acquisition/modernization programs
  • Interface daily with Branch leadership, program managers, engineers, logisticians, and members of the overall weapon system enterprise, including requirements managers at Air Force Global Strike Command, to manage cost, schedule, performance, and risks for assigned programs
  • Apply program management expertise to projects and program challenges, and advise project leads and project engineers on all matters of acquisition management
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate program management assignments and activities
  • Advise for and participate in programmatic reviews for assigned programs
  • Prepare and assess programmatic and technical products and collaborate with stakeholders to support associated reviews
  • Develop and draft high quality acquisition milestone plans and associated program documentation
  • Participate in program meetings, support analysis, make recommendations, and track actions to closure
  • Develop programmatic briefings and provide primary briefing support as needed
  • Implement and execute program management across the program life cycle
  • Assist with the review of contractor deliverables, schedules, and reports
  • Support cost estimation, technical risk management, and resource planning for systems engineering activities
  • Oversee requirements traceability and validation, ensuring designs meet specifications and mission objectives
  • Ensure all systems align with DoD standards, military specifications, risk management guidelines, and cybersecurity requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related business or technical field required, and 10+ years' experience in DoD acquisition program management with strong aircraft avionics programmatic and/or technical background
  • Experience developing and coordinating acquisition milestone plans and associated program documentation for one or more acquisition programs
  • Experience briefing and interfacing with program managers, senior executives, and senior military personnel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and physical science/technical problem-solving skill
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams under tight timelines, delivering mission-critical solution

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business/technical field required, and 10+ years' relevant experience
  • Over five (5) years of experience in System Program Office/Program Management Office as a Program/Project Manager on one or more acquisition programs
  • Knowledge of aircraft avionics, communications, navigation, and related mission systems
  • Knowledge of aircraft data link and/or command, control, and communications battle management (C3BM) requirements and implementation
  • Proficiency in preparation for major program reviews and milestone events

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with Top Secret (TS) / SCI eligibility
  • U.S. Citizenship
