Job Description

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Employment will not commence unless and until the contract is awarded and funding is confirmed.

Anglin Consulting Group is seeking a FOIA Analyst (Junior) to support FOIA processing activities for a federal government agency under the guidance of senior staff. The Junior FOIA Analyst will assist in reviewing and logging FOIA requests, conducting searches for responsive records, applying exemptions under supervision, preparing draft releasable records, and ensuring responses align with statutory and agency requirements. This position supports accurate, timely FOIA production while developing technical proficiency and contributing to overall workflow efficiency.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform entry-level FOIA processing under supervision, including reviewing and logging incoming FOIA requests
  • Assist in determining tasking and search requirements for assigned FOIA requests
  • Conduct searches for responsive records across designated agency systems and offices
  • Apply FOIA exemptions and redactions under guidance using approved redaction software
  • Prepare draft releasable records for supervisory review
  • Draft routine response correspondence for Government review
  • Ensure responses comply with statutory timelines and agency policy
  • Process Simple and Backlogged FOIA requests
  • Meet agency-established production benchmarks
  • Maintain accurate records within the agency's FOIA tracking system
  • Participate in daily FOIA team updates and required training

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate degree (additional FOIA or relevant administrative experience may substitute)
  • Minimum one (1) year of FOIA request processing experience within the last three (3) years
  • Basic knowledge of FOIA exemptions, request types, and statutory timelines
  • Ability to follow established FOIA processing procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database tools
  • Strong written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using FOIAXpress, FOIAonline, eFOIA, or similar platformss

  • Experience supporting a federal agency FOIA office

  • Completion of FOIA-related training
