At J Soccer, we believe every child deserves a coach who helps them build confidence, develop skills, and fall in love with the game.

The J is seeking energetic, reliable Soccer Coaches to join our coaching team for the upcoming season. Coaches play a key role in creating a positive, fun, and safe environment where players are encouraged to learn, compete, and enjoy the game. Our grassroots soccer program emphasizes age-appropriate player development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a lifelong love of soccer.

Whether you're an experienced coach, former player, teacher, referee, college student, or someone looking to begin coaching, we'd love to meet you. Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required - we provide curriculum, mentorship, and support to help passionate individuals become successful coaches.

Coaches may lead clinics, camps, recreational leagues, and other soccer programming while serving as positive role models for our players and ambassadors for J Soccer.

Schedule

  • We are hiring reliable part-time coaches to lead or assist with soccer programming for players ages for 3-14.
  • Will work approximately 5-10 hours per week on weeknights and/or Sundays.
  • Our primary fall season runs August through October, with additional opportunities available throughout the year, including winter, spring, summer, camps, clinics, and competitive programming.

Essential Functions

  • Lead engaging, age-appropriate soccer sessions using provided curriculum and coaching resources.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every player feels welcomed and supported.
  • Teach fundamental soccer skills while promoting confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
  • Build positive relationships with players, families, and fellow coaching staff.
  • Arrive prepared, organized, and ready to lead high-quality sessions.
  • Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and organization before and after programming.
  • Support clinics, camps, leagues, and special soccer events throughout the year.
  • Represent The J and J Soccer with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a player-first mindset.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Coaching, playing, refereeing, teaching, or other youth leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • General knowledge of soccer and its rules.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors up to 2-4 hours
  • Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination to demonstrate and soccer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with participants
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs.
