Position Description
Position Summary :
Prus Construction seeks a Concrete Plant Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining the concrete batch plant, ensuring the production of high-quality ready-mix concrete that meets project specifications and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of managing plant operations in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
    • Operate and monitor the concrete batch plant to produce mixes that meet project concrete mix design specifications and quality standards.
    • Coordinate concrete dispatch coordination with project managers, foremen, customers, and ready-mix truck drivers to ensure timely concrete delivery.
    • Maintain proper batch tickets and production records for concrete quality control documentation.
    • Monitor batching controls, aggregate moisture levels, and material proportions to maintain quality standards.
    • Monitor and manage routine plant maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation.
    • Monitor and manage material inventory including cement, aggregates, admixtures, and water supply.
    • Conduct plant inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards related to cement plant operations and batching equipment.
    • Assist with plant setup, calibration, and seasonal maintenance activities.
    • Communicate production issues or equipment needs to management promptly.

Position Requirements
Qualifications
    • Experience operating a concrete batch plant.
    • Knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching procedures, and materials.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and adapt to changing schedules.
    • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
    • Ability to work early mornings, extended hours, or weekends as required by project schedules.
    • Valid driver's license required.

Certifications & QC/QA Qualifications
    • Certified Ready-Mix Operator / Batch Plant Operator certification preferred.
    • ACI certifications strongly preferred, such as:
      • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
      • ACI Strength Testing Technician (as applicable)
      • Other ACI or equivalent concrete/materials testing credentials are a plus.
    • Experience in QC/QA for ready-mix production, including:
      • Sampling and testing basics (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and understanding test frequency requirements.
      • Mix design awareness and ability to verify batches meet approved mix designs and project specs.
      • Batch ticket accuracy, material traceability, and documentation control.
