Job description

Street Sweeper Operator
Responsibilities include but not limited to
  • Safely operate a street sweeper while verifying its operational status at beginning, during, and at the end of each shift.
  • Completion of time, mileage sheets, and log book.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
  • Check all oils, fluids, coolant, air filters, fuel and lights prior to transport.
  • Daily wash grease and fuel equipment at the end of shift.
  • Make sure all grease fittings are greased.
  • In the event fittings are malfunctioning, notify Supervisor in addition to writing it up on your post-trip report.
  • Use professional customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other Employees, Management, and all members of the general public.
  • Vehicle Cabs must be kept clean at all times.
  • Complete all assigned routes in the most safe and economical manner possible.
  • Follow all State safety and traffic laws.
  • Wear seat belt whenever deadheading to, from and between jobsites.
  • Disposal method of decanting liquid from solids.
  • Tank fill up/clean out.
  • Discharge pump operation maintenance.
  • Keep themselves generally useful at all times with any other work that needs to be performed on their vehicles within the scope of their job description whether on the job site or at the vehicles domicile location at the end of each shift.

Required Licensing:
  • Commercial Drivers License (Class B), Air Brake Endorsement

Required Certifications:
  • Medical Examiner's Certificate.

Other Requirements:
  • Successfully passed and continue to meet all USDOT medical examination and drug testing requirements.
