What is a streaming job?

Streaming jobs refer to roles that involve the distribution and delivery of digital media content, such as video or audio, over the internet in real time. These jobs can include positions like content creators, live stream producers, streaming engineers, and platform moderators. Streaming professionals work with platforms like Twitch, YouTube, or Netflix to ensure smooth content delivery, engage audiences, manage broadcasts, and troubleshoot technical issues. Their responsibilities may also include optimizing video quality, managing live chats, and ensuring compliance with platform guidelines.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a streaming content creator?

To thrive as a Streaming Content Creator, you need strong on-camera presence, content creation skills, and a deep understanding of your target audience, often supported by experience or knowledge in media production or digital marketing. Familiarity with streaming platforms like Twitch or YouTube Live, video editing software, and broadcasting tools such as OBS Studio is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and excellent communication skills help you engage with viewers and build a loyal community. These abilities are crucial for attracting and retaining audiences, maintaining high-quality streams, and achieving growth in a competitive digital landscape.

What are common challenges faced by streaming professionals when collaborating with technical and creative teams?

Streaming professionals often work at the intersection of technical and creative teams, which can present unique challenges. Coordinating live broadcasts or content releases requires clear communication to ensure technical requirements and creative vision align. Differences in timelines, priorities, or understanding of technical constraints can lead to misunderstandings, so successful streamers need strong collaboration and project management skills. Regular meetings and using shared project tools can help bridge gaps and keep everyone on the same page.

What is the difference between Streaming vs Video Editor?

Position Summary:

Judi Health is building the technology infrastructure our nation needs to deliver the healthcare we deserve. The Architecture organizationis responsible forthe technical foundation the rest of the company builds:the standards, patterns, and infrastructurethat engineering teams useto move fast and buildefficiently. The Realtime & Streaming team sits within Architecture's Core Platform function, owning the streaming infrastructure that services and data consumersdepend on fortimely, correct event delivery.

As a Staff Engineer in Architecture, your influence extends beyond what you ship directly. The standards you set, the patterns youestablish, and the decisions you document become the reference point for how event-driven systems are built across the organization.

The platform's consumers, includingcache invalidation systems, analytics pipelines, and change-data-capture subscribers, each carry different latency and ordering requirements. You will bedirectly responsiblefor scaling delivery without degrading it while honoring per-consumer SLAs as volume growstokeephistorical and real-time data in sync.

One of your first major initiatives will be leading the migration of our data warehouse synchronization layer from independently managed, batch-driven processes to a unified WAL-basedreplicationpipeline,usingan open table formatfor transactional data. This spans the fullsynchronizationpath fromPostgreSQLto thedownstream data warehouses used for analytics leveragingnative streaming and ingestion capabilitiesto supportrealtimesynchronization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, andoperatethe WAL replication and event streaming platform that cache invalidation, data warehouse synchronization, and change-data-capture consumers across the platform depend on for correctness and low latency
  • Own the full lifecycle of the streaming platform, from replication topology and delivery guarantee design through operational recovery and post-incident review
  • Define and own the performance and correctness contracts between the streaming platform and the services that depend on it
  • Lead the migration of batch-driven data warehouse synchronization to a unified WAL-basedreplicationpipeline,establishingan open table format as thecanonicalsource and replacing independently managed sync processes
  • Drive adoption of event-driven design best practices across engineering by eliminatinganti-patterns, producing architectural guidance, and making correct consumption of the streaming platform the default
  • Set the technical bar for the Realtime & Streaming team through design review, code review, and direct mentorship of senior engineers
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide continuous operational support and rapid incident response

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of production engineering experience, with deep specialization inrealtimedata infrastructure and event streaming systems
  • Production experience designing and operating WAL-based or log-structured replication systems, such as PostgreSQL logical replication, Debezium, Kafka Connect, or equivalent CDC frameworks at scale with an understanding of delivery guarantees, consumer lag management, and failure recovery
  • Deep understanding of event streaming correctness: ordering guarantees, at-least-once vs.exactly-oncedelivery semantics, idempotency requirements, and how those properties propagate to downstream consumers
  • Experience leading batch-to-streaming migrations replacing polling or batch-driven synchronization with event-driven architectures without disrupting dependent consumers
  • Fluency in a systems-level language (Rust, Go, or C/C++) used to build high-throughput, low-latency data plane components in production
  • A track recordof leading cross-team technical initiatives - driving decisions through influence and producing documentation that holds up over time
  • Strong written and verbal communication - you produce architectural guidance that the broader engineering organization depends on
