Job description

What You Will Be Doing...
As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for routine maintenance, adjustment, repair, assembly and preventive maintenance on extruders, haul-offs, automatic saws, beller, stacking equipment threaders, replacing guards, etc. used in the manufacturing process of PVC pipe. Applicant must have experience in industrial maintenance and possess a detailed understanding of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems. Electrical certification and knowledge as well as the ability to troubleshoot is desirable but not a requirement.
Starting Wages....
Starting wage of $29.85 with an hourly premium shift differential (after completion of probationary period pay will increase to $30.30):
  • 1st & 3rd shift = $1.00/hour
  • 2nd & 4th shift = $.75/hour

Scheduled Shifts & Hours...
Jet Stream is a 24 hour / 7 day a week manufacturing operation.
Applicants must be able to work any shift and willing to work overtime if needed.
  • Sunday - Tuesday/Wednesday (3 on 4 off then 4 on 3 off rotations)

    • 12:00 am - 12:00 pm = 1st Shift
    • 12:00 pm - 12:00 am = 2nd Shift

  • Wednesday/Thursday - Saturday (3 on 4 off then 4 on 3 off rotations)

    • 12:00 am - 12:00 pm = 3rd Shift
    • 12:00 pm - 12:00 am = 4th Shift

Applicants must be able to fully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
All positions are considered safety sensitive.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Using hand and power tools to adjust, disassemble, set up, assemble and repair equipment
  • Maintenance, repair and replacement of filters, lines, blowers, silo's, etc. of material handling systems, including climbing to a height of sixty (60) feet up the silo's
  • Using test equipment to safely troubleshoot, repair and replace electronic and electrical equipment
  • Must follow safe procedures to work on electrical equipment from 12 volts to 480 volts, including control cabinets, wiring, solenoids, drives, receptacles, etc.
  • Using welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment to make and repair equipment, machines, guards, brackets, etc.
  • Using hand and power tools to install, repair/adjust lights, fans, heaters, and other general building maintenance as needed
  • Installation, repair, replacement of water systems, including pumps, lines, drains, etc. for water/cooling the production equipment
  • Installation, repair, or replacement of air systems, including pipes, filters, compressors, etc.
  • Using hand and power tools to install, repair or replace hydraulic cylinders, valves, piping, pneumatic cylinders, valves, solenoids, piping, etc.
  • Maintenance on chillers, gear boxes, D.C. drives and other production support equipment
  • Operation of a fork truck to transport parts, equipment, etc. from storage to installation
  • Must also use lifting (Powered Industrial Trucks) equipment, electric transport vehicles in the maintenance and installation of equipment and building
  • Housekeeping of the maintenance shop, work areas, etc.
  • Must wear safety equipment and follow all safety policies and guidelines.

Position Requirements:
  • Excellent Attendance Record - A MUST

  • Aggressive, self-motivated maintenance technician with previous experience in industrial manufacturing
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must possess a detailed understanding of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
  • Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting is desirable but not a requirement.
