Job Description

Maas Verde Landscape Restoration (Maas Verde) is a landscape design-build company that works on Residential, Commercial, Government, and landowner projects, operating primarily in Central Texas. Our services include construction, carpentry, earthwork, tree trimming & removal, erosion control & management, irrigation, maintenance, stream restoration, masonry, planting, lighting, steel fabrication, stormwater management, and vegetation management. Maas Verde aspires to lead the landscape and construction industry into an ecologically conscious paradigm. Our highest priority is to deliver functional landscapes that meet each client’s unique needs.

The Sales Manager’s primary function is coordinating, supporting and leading the Sales process, which includes leading a team of sales professionals across all lines of business. The Sales manager will also own the sales funnel and ensure we are meeting our prospect, leads, and closed business KPIs across each line of business.

This individual should be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as having experience in sales management in construction, landscape, or other related industries. This position is expected to be a proficient communicator and to develop and foster meaningful professional relationships with staff, customers, and other industry stakeholders to maintain and further grow all three lines of business – Residential Design/Build, Commercial Installation, and Landscape Maintenance.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Own the refinement of systems and processes to prospect for opportunities with new and existing customers, generate leads, network and build relationships within landscape construction and environmental restoration markets, as well as allocating new leads and projects to sales representatives
  • Define full Maas Verde’s full sales cycle and own management, tracking, analysis and reporting of full sales cycle. Subsequently create scalable processes for this
  • Lead daily sales check-in, with weekly reporting
  • Conduct one-on-one's with all Sales Team members
  • Provide monthly rolling 12 month forecast to Finance team
  • Provide administrative support for sales team regarding invoicing, estimating, scheduling and any other needs as identified
  • Manage entire sales cycle, including assisting other representatives on their sales opportunities
  • Develop systems for understanding the full lead conversion cycle from the moment we engage in advertising all the way through customer conversion and then into converting an established customer into a recurring customer
  • Refine and formalize how we communicate with clients throughout project life cycle, including project start, status updates, gain approval and collect payments, and coach other representatives on client communications
  • Refine, formalize, and report on searches for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on city, county, and government websites, as well as commercial project job posting websites, and split up all inquiries from website / public works to sales team
  • Monitor, track, support, and sometimes even complete RFPs by submittal deadlines, and assist and approve other representative’s RFP submissions
  • Own the development and management of a full-cycle CRM that includes lead/customer contacts, customer fact sheets, contracts, and other information relevant to existing and potential customers to evaluate opportunities for growth
  • Monitor, manage and track sales team’s performance, lead conversion
  • Lead the Sales and Marketing functions taking initiative to identify and pursue new opportunities -- identify prospective customers and new opportunities for existing customers using business directories, by following leads from existing clients, and by attending various industry networking events
  • Monitor market conditions to stay ahead of market issues and changes in the industry
  • Able to review and negotiate contract details. Work with legal counsel and assist sales representatives in contract negotiations
  • Consolidate sales reports for entire sales team, filing expense account reports, and assisting with account receivable collections
  • Willingness to travel to contact and visit customers and attend networking events

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or Business Administration or relevant equivalent experience is required
  • Understanding of construction, ecology, and landscaping industry is preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in landscape or construction sales management
  • Other relevant professional experience in Sales is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word is required
  • Experience with LMN software strongly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM strongly preferred
  • Experience reading, interpreting, negotiating, and understanding construction contracts is strongly preferred
  • Work experience demonstrating strong analytical and interpersonal skills is important
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Superior written communication and presentation skills is required
  • An ability to analyze data and present findings is required
  • Able to multitask and demonstrate a commonsense approach to problem solving
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with colleagues and customers at all levels within the organization is required
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and effective time management skills to develop knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities in an independent and thorough manner
  • Able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers
