Position Details:

Mackenzie Investments Distribution - Strategic Partnerships is currently hiring an intern for a winter term position, January to April 2027. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and plan to return to school after completing the internship to be eligible to apply.

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

Strategic Partnerships sits within Mackenzie Investments Distribution and helps grow and deepen relationships with key third-party partners (e.g., dealer groups, platforms, banks, and strategic alliances). The team supports partner onboarding and ongoing relationship management, coordinates cross-functional execution, and uses data-driven insights to identify opportunities to expand distribution and improve the partner experience.

The role will liaise with Distribution leaders, Sales, Product, Marketing, Client Service, Operations, Compliance/Legal, and external partner teams to help move priority initiatives forward and enable partners to successfully distribute Mackenzie solutions.

Located in our Toronto office, the intern will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Support strategic partner relationship management by preparing meeting materials, agendas, and follow-ups, and maintaining action trackers for key initiatives.
  • Analyze distribution and partner data (sales flows, asset trends, product mix, campaign results) to create dashboard and ad hoc insights that inform strategy and partner conversations.
  • Experience applying AI automation to business processes, including designing, building, and using AI agents/agentic workflows to streamline work, improve efficiency, and solve practical business problems.
  • Work with Regional Vice Presidents to coordinate client events, professional developments days and field engagement as required.
  • Conduct competitive and market research on partner platforms and industry trends, summarizing insights and recommendations for the team.
  • Maintain and enhance Google Gemini workbooks as a centralized repository for team shared sales tools, collateral and competitive insights, ensuring materials are organized, current, and easy to access.
  • Partner with Wholesaling teams to assess marketing and collateral needs, translate requirements into clear briefs, and coordinate with Marketing to develop and deliver new sales tools in support of distribution priorities.

 

Requirements:

  • Registered students returning to school in 2027 in a related field (BCom, BA, BSc, etc.)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, judgment & decision-making skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines
  • Capable of applying sound judgment in constructing analysis and in formulating recommendations
  • Resourceful and creative in solving new/non-recurring problems through research and well-supported analysis and business acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce.com is an asset

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $49,000 - $51,000, which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidateโ€™s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
