SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Lead Purchaser is responsible foroverseeing purchasing and pricing to help ensure profitability for the Company. This includes procuring raw materials, supplies, equipment, and services for operations. Duties will also include the review of requisition requests, prepare purchase orders, and solicit bids for goods and services.This role collaborates with the leadership team to implement effective procurement strategies and serves as a key resource in resolving issues such as supply chain disruption or pricing conflicts.

DIRECT REPORTS:
  • N/A
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Negotiates, re-negotiates and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
  • Leads the evaluation and monitoring of contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
  • Leverages vendors/subcontracts across multiple procurements to create costs savings to projects
  • Maintains all relevant purchasing data of goods in the ERP
  • Analyzes price proposals and other financial data to determine reasonable prices for goods and services
  • Balances cost and quality to procure the best quality of goods or services for the lowest price in adequate amounts
  • Actively develop schedules and performance plans to meet customer and Company goals and objectives
  • Monitors and adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding the purchase of goods and services
  • Collaborates with internal departments (estimating, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality and shipping) to communicate customer requirements
  • Collaborates with a worldwide network of suppliers and vendors
  • Performs other duties outside their scope of work as assigned and required
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES:
  • Minimum high school graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • BS in Business Administration or Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5 or more years' experience as an international purchasing agent
  • Prior experience with purchasing new PCBAs, and electrical components is desired.
  • Strong experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office application skills, including Excel and Word
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Strong team player with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with Sales, Shipping & Receiving, Engineering, Suppliers and Customers.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Travel may be required up to approximately 25%
  • Must be able to read, write and speak/understand English fluently

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation
