Job description

Overview
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and working closely with operations and sales, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for all sourcing activities within the Filtran organization. He/she will support in analyzing the supplier landscape, support in new business quotations, manage supplier critical documentation and support in driving sourcing and cost reduction activity.
Responsibilities
  • Develops key performance criteria and measures supplier's performance
  • Research and qualifies suppliers for sustainability
  • Purchase products that meet the quality standards and quantity set forth by Filtran
  • Develops and maintains key supply chain and operations information
  • Analyzes data to identify opportunities for cost reductions and supply chain efficiencies
  • Supports project initiatives focusing on cost reductions/process improvements
  • Reviews data and makes recommendations to optimize the supply chain and/or operations
  • Participate in make-buy studies
  • Updates Strategic Sourcing Funnel data and supports preparation of commodity strategies as required
  • Develops and supports a variety of reporting requirements, including but not limited to cost reductions, transition status of key initiatives, payment terms, inventory, etc.
  • Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
  • Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
  • Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
  • Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
  • Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
  • Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of recent experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
  • MUST HAVE: PROCUREMENT, SOURCING, AND SUPPLIER NEGOTIATION EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, relationship building, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain and total cost of ownership principles required. Ability to work independently, seek guidance when required and drive projects in a matrix environment. Continuous improvement mindset. Positive communications skill, high energy level and a desire to succeed are all integral to the role
  • Understanding of demand planning, materials management and quality assurance and systems in a production setting
  • Analytical, ability to review and interpret data and make recommendations and decisions
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of materials
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including, but not limited to pivot tables, v-look ups, charts, and graphs)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects working independently and on global teams
  • Flexible, learns quickly, adapt to changing needs with the varying priorities of the organization
  • Ability to problem solve and lead others in problem-solving activities
  • High integrity and ethics, ensures confidentiality of all pricing strategies for the organization
  • ERP knowledge and experience preferred
  • Solid negotiation skills

Salary Range: $100,00-$120,000
Bonues: 15% of base annually
