Capacity Analyst, Strategic Account 

Location: Mid-Atlantic (Washington, DC-Baltimore-Philadelphia Corridor)
Travel: Ability to travel to Baltimore and/or Philadelphia weekly as needed (up to 30%)

Role Overview

Prometric is seeking a Capacity Analyst, Strategic Accounts to serve as the end-to-end capacity strategist and trusted advisor for a high-priority strategic client, combining advanced analytics, operational planning, and client consulting. As the single owner for capacity strategy, you will act as both the voice of the client internally and the voice of capacity strategy externally, influencing decisions that drive improved forecasting, increased efficiency, and long-term partnership success. This is a high-visibility individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Capacity & Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Capacity Ownership

  • Own end-to-end demand planning, forecasting, and capacity management for a designated strategic client across test centers and delivery channels
  • Develop and continuously refine short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts, incorporating demand changes, seasonality, and business shifts
  • Optimize and audit capacity to align with demand patterns while balancing operational constraints
  • Analyze drivers of forecast variance and implement improvements to enhance forecast accuracy
  • Leverage Excel, SQL, Power BI, and (potentially) Python to build scalable analytics and scenario models
  • Act as the central coordination point across Commercial, Capacity, and Operations teams


Client Partnership & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary capacity advisor and point of contact for the client, building strong, trust-based relationships across stakeholder levels
  • Establish a regular cadence of engagement (business reviews, performance updates, planning sessions)
  • Define, monitor, and communicate key performance metrics (e.g., utilization, availability, forecast accuracy)
  • Proactively identify risks, performance gaps, and trade-offs, and lead corrective actions
  • Present insights and recommendations to client and internal leadership, driving continuous improvement and long-term partnership success

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics) with 5-8 years of experience. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred with 2-3+ years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • SQL (complex querying, optimization, large datasets)
    • Power BI or similar data visualization tools
    • Advanced Excel (modeling, pivot tables, lookups)
    • Python experience a plus (forecasting, automation)
  • Proven experience working directly with clients or senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into business decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • Background in capacity-constrained or scheduling-driven environments (e.g., testing, healthcare, airlines, hospitality)
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and enterprise feedback platforms (e.g., Qualtrics)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority in cross-functional settings
