Communication Strategist Agency 092 TOBACCO SETTLEMENT ENDMT TRUST Supervisory Organization Tobacco Settlement Endowment T Job Posting End Date Refer to the date listed at the top of this posting, if available. Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Full time Job Type Regular Compensation 80,000.00 Primary Duties and Responsibilities Actively supports TSET's commitment to preventing cancer and cardiovascular disease in Oklahomans and creating healthier places for all Oklahomans to live, work, learn, and play. Serves as the primary point of contact for grantee communication needs. Reviews and enforces branding and logo guidelines. Provides feedback and approval on grantee-produced signage, communication materials, plans, and reports. Evaluates and approves grantee sponsorships and signage requests. Supports the development of comprehensive communication plans. Coordinates with TSET staff to fulfill grantee event-related needs. Offers consultation and technical assistance as needed to local program and project coordinators in public relations (including news writing, media relations, event and sponsorship planning), advertising, and social marketing. Assists grantees in integrating messaging research into communications efforts. Identifies strategic communication or marketing opportunities for new programs and grants in conjunction with Program Architects and works with appropriate Strategic Communication staff to execute. Determines strategic outcomes and measures for programmatic marketing needs. Receives media recommendations from program evaluations and determines the best course for enhancing communication around those programs. Works collaboratively with TSET grantees and internal staff to gather and share success stories about the grants, programs, and initiatives that TSET funds (or in which TSET funds are being leveraged) for public and stakeholder audiences. Provides social marketing theory-based project planning, consultation, technical assistance, and training to TSET staff and grantees, as well as managing special projects related to grantee-oriented operations of TSET. Collaborates with other public and private organizations to enhance the agency's programs, campaigns, and activities as directed by the Director of Strategic Communication. Establishes and maintains cooperative and collaborative relationships with program staff, grantees, contractors, and collaborative partners. Travels to grantee and partner locations throughout the state, as needed, to provide technical assistance, consultation, and communication support. Also travels in-state and out-of-state, as needed, to build capacity, provide training, or receive training. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills & Abilities All aspects of and experience in public relations, advertising, and social-marketing principles, methods, and tactics. Advanced usage of the English language, including grammar and composition. Project management processes and understanding of project management and leadership. AP style. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products. Salesforce experience helpful. Message framing, news and report writing and research, publishing techniques and procedures, media monitoring and analyses. Developing and implementing performance metrics (KPIs) for program communications. Strong storytelling capabilities, including identifying story opportunities, conducting interviews, and producing polished narratives that align with strategic messaging. Strong customer service. Attention to detail. Collaboration and ability to work with team members to achieve agency goals. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public relations, advertising, marketing, communication, journalism or a related field. A minimum of three years of professional-level experience utilizing public relations principles and techniques, marketing and graphic design terminology, and practices.
