Job Summary:
Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) provides a range of IT services, and they are seeking a Systems Administration (Operations Support Specialist) to serve as a technical expert in relevant areas. The role involves conducting analysis, developing solutions, and improving methods and quality of services in systems administration.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as a technical expert in areas relevant to the project.
• Must be capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
• Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical areas.
• Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency.
• Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment.
• Define and document best practices and support procedures.
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend Maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree (Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science)
• 10+ years experience as a system administrator.
• Linux experience.
• Security+ Certification.
• Must possess or be able to attain a DoD Secret security clearance, requires U.S. citizenship.
• Experience supporting DoD or government systems (if applicable).
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information; make appropriate judgements and evaluate options.
• Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
