Job description

Position Summary:

Straightening Worker uses a variety of tools and machinery to straighten steel, stainless steel and aluminum castings.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Retrieves, stores and maintains calibration status.
  • Interprets technique for instructions on straightening of castings.
  • Uses measuring tools and machinery such as calipers, ice tongs, height gauges, Indicators, surface plates, fixtures, hammers/mallets, pin gauges, radius gauges, feeler gauges, press, and high temperature oven.
  • Verifies calibration status of measurement equipment prior to use.
  • Verifies router to confirm prior, current and next operation.
  • Checks in/out work in process operations.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Protective Equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes. Per task: heat protective gloves, heat protective polarized face shield, heat protective coat, and heat protective sleeves. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
