Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all operations at Birkey's Farm Store location including financial, sales, customer service and all related employee matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Develop annual business plan, goals, and budget with the assistance of all department managers.
  2. Continually monitor actual company performance and compare with budget and the general business environment, making adjustments when necessary.
  3. Manage inventory levels to ensure profitability.
  4. Maintain an effective sales control system (using Birkey's quote sheets, cost analysis forms, daily contact reporting, customer profiles etc.)
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of an advertising program for assigned division.
  6. Monitor customer satisfaction and make corrections whenever necessary.
  7. Ensure all employees understand the importance of excellent customer service and how all employees impact the customer and the image of the company.
  8. Determine and ensure proper staffing levels in all departments.
  9. Provide guidance and training to all department managers.
  10. Monitor company-wide compliance concerning all governmental regulations (e.g. OSHA, EEOC, ADA, EPA, USDOT, etc.
  11. Maintain involvement with or in associations that deal with our customer base.
  12. Properly prepare and execute all sales, financing, and warranty documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  13. Support and ensure compliance with all company and employee policies.
  14. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  15. Responsible for hiring and supervision of all department managers including interviewing, directing work, appraising performance, discipline and termination.
  16. Responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems of all employees and customers.
  17. Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all times.
  18. Responsible for other duties as assigned.

  • Resolve customers concerns efficiently and effectively.

Education/Experience: Individual should have a bachelors degree or its equivalent. Should be able to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision and be able to understand and carry-out oral and written directions. Must have the ability to maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest level of customer satisfaction.

The individual should have 2 4 years of related experience, steady work record, and must be able to perform each of the essential position functions.

  • Ability to get around the dealership and grounds for various tasks.
  • The employee would normally lift or move 10 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifts or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands.
  • Ability to be on ones feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate equipment or other power equipment as necessary.
