Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Associate Experience Manager  champions and supports Ross's efforts to build and maintain an inclusive, engaged, and informed workforce across our Stores (Ross and dd's) and supply chain locations. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Associate Relations, you will drive positive workplace initiatives and develop close partnerships with your stakeholders, our frontline Associates, and many cross-functional teams including Operations, Human Resources, and centers of expertise.  

The base salary range for this role is $105,400 - $158,250. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Consistently interact with leaders and associates to find ways to enhance the working experience of associates, and increase engagement 
    Identify, recommend, and collaborate to help drive strategies to impact the quality of managers and their performance/skill set; make recommendations and help create training for new and existing managers and supervisors on approachable leadership, and deliver training as assigned.
    Manage highly confidential information and sensitive associate relations matters with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
    Effectively prioritize and manage multiple high-priority tasks and projects simultaneously, consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of work to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables
    Exhibit confidence and resilience when facing opposition from internal or external stakeholders; remain calm under pressure, think on your feet, and respond with sound judgment and professionalism
    Establish rapport with associates at all levels; gather feedback and represent associate perspectives to advise partners on communication and change strategies
    Identify, recommend, and collaborate on creative associate-focused solutions while leading change management initiatives
    Evaluate the impact of new programs on associates and, if needed, employ appropriate change strategies
    Collaborate to help craft effective communications to be used in Distribution Centers at associate meetings, Distribution Center Huddle Announcements, and Stores TRUENews check-ins.
    Lead and consult on the design, administration, and analysis of annual and pulse engagement surveys across multiple business units. Analyze data and recommend strategy for building, maintaining, and fostering an engaged workforce
    Work with key HR and business leaders to identify strategies that drive engagement and positive associate relations.  
    Keep a keen eye on developing issues that could have labor relations ramifications and provide ongoing current feedback to the HR functional leaders and business partners.    
    Keep abreast of developments in key areas of labor relations law/policy and keep partners informed.
    With guidance and collaboration from Sr. Director, Associate Relations,  follow best practices and playbook for managing escalated Associate Relations issues.
    Investigate designated associate complaints by conducting virtual or on-site climate surveys and "pulse checks"; advise HR and Operations regarding appropriate actions
    Other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Bachelor's degree 
    Five years related work experience in Human Resources and/or operations 
    Bilingual in Spanish preferred
    Experience with human resources programs and processes, federal and state employment laws, compliance, and change management principles and tools
    Experience with positive employee and labor relations best practices
    A consultative approach to HR leadership 
    Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    Ability to achieve rapport with associates and leaders of all levels
    Human Resources certifications desired, i.e., PHR or SPHR 
    Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
    Ability to create Powerpoint presentations using compelling data

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. 
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, facilitating in-person and virtual training, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.  
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Job requires occasional travel
