Secret Clearance Required

Locations: Mechanicsburg, PA • Ogden, UT • Oklahoma City, OK • Montgomery, AL

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000

Travel: Up to 20% - Must live within 90 minutes of one of the sites above. Some occasional travel to the other sites from time to time.

Position Overview

PGTEK is seeking an experienced Storage Systems Engineer to support a long-term federal program. This role is ideal for an engineer with extensive experience managing enterprise storage environments, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Backup & Recovery (BURA) solutions.

You'll be responsible for maintaining highly available storage infrastructure, supporting mission-critical environments, and ensuring data protection through enterprise backup technologies. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, experience with modern storage platforms, and an active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and support enterprise SAN infrastructure.
  • Manage enterprise backup and recovery (BURA) solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise storage systems.
  • Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
  • Configure and maintain storage replication, snapshots, cloning, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Monitor system health and proactively resolve storage and backup issues.
  • Support virtualization and server teams with storage connectivity and performance optimization.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, patching, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards.
  • Participate in on-call support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security policies and organizational standards.

Requirements

  • United States citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience administering enterprise storage environments.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Storage Area Networks (SAN)
    • Fibre Channel
    • iSCSI
    • Enterprise backup and recovery (BURA) technologies
  • Experience administering one or more enterprise backup platforms, including:
    • Commvault
    • Veritas NetBackup
    • Dell NetWorker
    • Veeam
    • Rubrik
    • Cohesity
  • Experience supporting VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across storage, backup, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience supporting secure enterprise or government environments.
