Summary
Companion Data Services provides leading IT solutions and managed services. We operate multiple geographically disperse data centers, including two of the nation's largest healthcare data centers - both rated among the top five percent of data centers worldwide by MIPS.
With three U.S. locations and decades of experience in government, commercial and education markets, our innovative solutions and reliable services allow clients to focus on core business and improve outcomes.
Our data centers host applications process billions of transactions, supporting state, federal and commercial business.
Description
Position Purpose:
Works across the enterprise to advance the capabilities of the business technical solutions; providing cutting edge technical direction to enterprise projects, ensuring that the technology and projects are successfully achieving the desired technical business outcomes. Cultivates an environment of perpetual innovation and transformation in how business is done. Applies deep technical knowledge to aid in the design of business solutions. Provides guidance and approval of technology road maps to support infrastructure.
Location:
This position is full time and fully onsite in Columbia, South Carolina (strongly preferred), State College, PA, or Dallas, TX.

What You'll Do:
  • Influences strategic technology driven initiatives by consulting on new and emerging technologies and solutions. Provides the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to develop an enterprise's technical architecture. Consults with key technical resources within ICT areas to identify key technical skills needed to adopt public cloud service offerings as current and future contracts require hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Ensures cutting edge technological strategies through research and evaluation of industry data to ensure business alignment and in-depth technical knowledge on emerging technologies. Continuously learns, works with, understands and communicates emerging technologies utilizing various methods. Works closely with cloud vendors as a liaison to coordinate management of services hosted outside of our data centers to meet security, compliance and audit requirements.
  • Participates and leads cross functional discussions to understand the business need, vendor solution, and determine the technical appropriateness of the solution. Interfaces and influences at all levels of the organization to build trusted relationships with key personnel. Works closely with vendors and key influencers in IS/business areas to develop roadmaps, white/position papers to align IT service offerings to align with changing business needs.
  • Approves and manages technical roadmaps and project level artifacts. Provides input for any changes to the technical architectural standards while working closely with the IT organization and lines of business.

To Qualify For This Position, You'll Need The Following:
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's

Degree Equivalency:
  • Associates degree plus an extra 2 years of job-related work experience for a total of 11 years of required work experience (see "required work experience")

OR
  • 13 total years required work experience.

Required Work Experience:
  • 9 years related IT experience and 2 years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent)

Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have technical, industry and business relationships to achieve business goals through technology using strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills.
  • Builds a trusted Advisory relationship with leaders and technicians by establishing and maintaining industry, technical and business relationships to support ability to achieve business goals through technology using superior communication and relationship building skills.
  • Communicates openly and honestly with all colleagues.
  • Has strong writing skills to develop analysis work products, white papers, and responses to organizational queries on technology.

We Prefer That You Have The Following
  • IBM z/OS storage environments.
  • Creating storage management utilization reports.
  • Initialization and configuration of DASD devices.
  • DFSMSdss full volume and logical dataset dump and restore.
  • Coding SMS ACS routines.
  • ISMF, HSM configuration and administration, SMS storage group utilization, RMM configuration and administration.
  • Working knowledge of Dino Software T-REX and UDM software products.
  • Working knowledge of Luminex Mainframe Virtual Tape (MVT), storage pools, LSCRUP process, and Luminex GUI.
  • Exposure with IBM TDMF for z/OS.
  • Working knowledge of DELL EMC PowerMax and SRDF replication
    Exploitation of zEDC.
  • Master's Degree.
  • 11 years related IT experience and 4 years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent).
