Job description

Unit Manager

We are looking for high energy people with a positive, friendly attitude to join our team. Our Unit Managers oversee all Back of House operations including ordering, inventory, food cost control, food quality, exceptional safety and sanitation practices, and work with the entire BOH team on growth and development opportunities.

Responsibilities + Duties:

  • Exceptional knowledge of our Craveably Crafted food and uncommon hospitality
  • Complete weekly inventory and orders understanding the importance of Actual vs. Theoretical numbers and how they impact the business
  • Monitor and track daily food prep and storage to minimize waste, ensure quality and control budgeted costs
  • Follow good time management practices to ensure FOH and BOH opening and closing duties are completed efficiently 
  • Control and maintain labor costs through great schedule writing
  • Coach, teach and mentor all FOH and BOH staff 
  • Participate in the selection of new FOH and BOH staff and implement training and testing procedures for all new employees
  • Follow recipes to prepare our Craveably Crafted food
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Enforce employee image and grooming standards 
  • Follow good time management practices to ensure each food order is made within the desired ticket time
  • Guarantee restaurant is kept clean through great safety and sanitation practices 
  • Maintain a clean kitchen throughout the shift by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and removing trash.

Qualifications + Skills:

  • BOH Manager experience preferred
  • Understanding of BOH operations and management
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 35 lbs. as needed
  • Must have a courteous, energetic, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests and coworkers

Pay Range: $60000 per year - $80000 per hour


*Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
