Position Summary

The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning, painting, and general maintenance. This role ensures every apartment is move-in ready by meeting company quality standards and completion deadlines. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and takes pride in delivering quality work.

Key ResponsibilitiesApartment Turns
  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for new move-ins.
  • Complete painting, drywall repairs, touch-ups, and patchwork.
  • Replace fixtures, blinds, hardware, and other apartment components as needed.
  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Clean and inspect apartments to ensure they meet move-in standards.
Maintenance Support
  • Assist the maintenance team with service requests and general repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on vacant units.
  • Maintain building exteriors, common areas, and grounds when assigned.
  • Report maintenance issues that require additional repairs.
Inventory & Equipment
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Keep storage and maintenance areas clean and organized.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of apartment, residential, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.
Preferred
  • Previous multifamily apartment Make Ready experience.
  • Experience with apartment turns and unit preparation.
  • EPA or HVAC certification is a plus, but not required.
